Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid are the hottest couple in the tabloids right now. However, the duo’s recent cover shoot for Vogue was everything but glamorous.
The photoshoot displays the couple “breaking gender norms” by having Zayn wear clothes made for women and Gigi wearing clothes made for men. Vogue defined this act of borrowing clothes as being gender fluid, however that is not what it is.
“I shop in your closet all the time, don’t I?” Hadid, 22, flicks a lock of dyed-green hair out of her boyfriend’s eyes as she poses the question.
“Yeah, but same,” replies Malik, 24. “What was that T-shirt I borrowed the other day?”
“The Anna Sui?” asks Hadid.

Vogue’s misunderstanding of gender fluidity sparked controversy on Twitter. If a female borrowing a shirt from a male makes her gender fluid then most of the population is. The lack of education of genders is a major problem in today’s society and until people research and think before they speak, offensive and tone-deaf articles like this will continue.
ALSO, on this #Vogue cover with #ZaynMalik and #GigiHadid..... JUST NO. gender fluidity is more than fashion choices people. I'm angry.

The magazine issued a formal apology on Wednesday:
“The story was intended to highlight the impact the gender fluid, non-binary communities have had on fashion and culture. We are very sorry the story did not correctly reflect that spirit – we missed the mark. We do look forward to continuing the conversation with greater sensitivity," a Vogue representative said.
So what does it mean to be Gender Fluid?
Being Gender Fluid means that you don’t identify as just female or just male. Actress Ruby Rose describes what it is like being genderfluid in an interview with the Huffington Post:
“Gender fluidity is not really feeling like you’re at one end of the spectrum or the other,” she said. “For the most part, I definitely don’t identify as any gender. I’m not a guy; I don’t really feel like a woman, but obviously I was born one. So, I’m somewhere in the middle, which — in my perfect imagination — is like having the best of both sexes. I have a lot of characteristics that would normally be present in a guy and then less that would be present in a woman. But then sometimes I’ll put on a skirt — like today.”
Not gonna lie, Zayn and Gigi look so cute on the cover but the misunderstanding of the topic ruined it.
